Jacqueline Luna-Knapp was born into a family of island herbalists and shamans. However, she came to natural medicine later in life trying to treat her own lingering injury. She has spent over 20 years studying many different forms of traditional and alternative medicines and have found Chinese Medicine to be the most consistent, most holistic, and most powerful form of medicine to promote harmony and healing in our bodies. She really enjoys working with children, using a practical method which she honed while working with her own kids. Jackie is passionate about the power of Chinese Medicine, and loves being able to treat people of all ages using an art unequaled by any other. She has worked to educate a new generation of practitioners in her former role as a professor of Pediatrics in Chinese Medicine, Oncology in Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in New York City.
Jackie is a Licensed Acupuncturist in NY. She obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College and obtained her Master’s Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from PCOM. She’s board certified as a Diplomat of Acupuncture from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and certified by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM) in Clean Needle Technique.
Dr. Douglas Knapp is among a handful of people in the U.S. to have earned the degree of Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in San Diego, California. His interest in Chinese medicine has its roots in childhood; he was introduced to the martial arts at the age of four, and has continued practicing throughout his life. Dr. Knapp has developed his own style of treatment based on techniques taught by Dr. Richard Tan, Master Tong, and Dr. Myriam Lee. The technique minimizes the number of needles used, reducing any discomfort that may be experienced. He has logged thousands of patient hours while developing his pain treatments and he enjoys the challenges that each new patient brings.
He earned a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in San Diego, California and also holds a MSTOM from PCOM in New York City. He is board certified as a Diplomate in Acupuncture from the NCCAOM, certified by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM) in Clean Needle Technique, and also state certified as a Licensed Acupuncturist in New York. Dr. Knapp is a former professor at PCOM in New York City.
